san-zhi in three inadequate memory systems, 2013 The series attempts an investigation of digital memories by combining photos of the Internet viral phenomenon San-Zhi UFO houses with the artist's personal memories of frequently encountering them while growing up in Taiwan. As the photographs’ data are databent and injected with the textual narration of his memories of this regional curiosity in his hometown, the digital data becomes corrupted and/or enhanced, and offers a hybridized data form that points to the inadequacy of the individual medium in an age of digital memories.
